PAUL AND JEAN HARRIS HOME

Located on a wooded hilltop in Chicago's Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood, the Paul and Jean Harris Home is the historic residence of Paul Harris, the Chicago attorney who founded the Rotary Club of Chicago in 1905, and his wife, Jean Thomson Harris. The couple lived there together from 1912 to 1947, hosting Rotarians from around the world as the organization grew from a single four-person club to more than 5,600 clubs across 75 countries.

Beverly Cabinets was honored to take part in the full historic restoration of this landmark residence, returning its interior to the way it looked during Paul and Jean's years there in the 1930s and 1940s. The scope of work included interior construction, custom trim and millwork replicating the original details, flooring, windows, doors, insulation, drywall, painting, and updates to the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to meet current building and fire safety codes, all while preserving the home's historic character.

Today the home is open to visitors in the Chicago area and welcomes Rotarians from around the world who want to walk the same rooms where the global Rotary movement was shaped.
